Production

Production

In roles of leadership, I have had the opportunity to manage a diverse range of projects, each with its own unique set of challenges and requirements. My experience spans across various genres and platforms. With a passion for overseeing the development process from concept to launch, I have honed my skills in project management, team coordination, and resource allocation. In this introductory section, I will provide insights into my role as a game producer and highlight some of the projects I have successfully managed throughout my career.

One key to my success is my ability to facilitate the needs of team members. My experience across various departments has provided me with valuable insight into their respective processes. This knowledge enables me to identify and address any bottlenecks or delays in the pipeline, offering assistance or finding solutions to keep the project moving forward smoothly. During team meetings, I leverage this understanding to focus discussions on actionable tasks and maintain enthusiasm among the team regarding the project and its progress.

Elephant Mouse/ Villain

IOS Game Management

Elephant Mouse is an award-winning IOS game developer. While I served many roles there, I had a large part in their QA team. From managing the team, developing test plans, and acting as a tester myself we released high-quality titles for the end user.

As a small team, we frequently took on tasks across various departments, which provided valuable insights into the inner workings of each department. This enhanced our ability to communicate effectively and understand the requirements of different teams, allowing us to facilitate their needs and ensure the smooth progress of the projects. The success of Archetype enabled us to expand our capabilities and undertake more high-profile projects. Please find below detailed descriptions of our completed and published projects.

BrainGenix

Research Game Engine

BrainGenix is a subsidiary of the non-profit research of Carboncopies. Our goal is to develop a game that will promote the research. I worked in many roles with the team and provided feedback on the development of their ERS engine as well as helped design the primary game, which is currently still in development.  While I did not act primarily as a producer I was able to lend my knowledge to assist in the organization of the project.

I helped evaluate the state of the project and produced feedback that went into organizing the project. This included setting task priorities,  writing job listings, interviewing new artists, and delegating tasks to the art department. You can read about my other work there from my main software development page.

SIUE URCA

Education and Grants

These are projects I completed at SIUE, one of them being a funded research grant to develop an educational application. While I was the single team member that handled all aspects, I had to manage each element’s time as well as delegate tasks to my professors and research subjects for these projects.

I was awarded a student-funded project by SIUE to develop a teaching tool based on a dice game created by Barb Nwacha. I managed the entire project and accomplished all portions of it within the self-imposed milestones. You can find more detailed information about this project in the UX/UI section.

For my senior BFA show, I utilized my expertise in Graphic Design, HCI, and computer science to undertake a significant project. Throughout a fourteen-week period, I acquired proficiency in Unity and developed “Nori and the Curry Caper,” a 2D action platformer featuring original characters. I successfully managed this project while concurrently fulfilling Design Constraints and maintaining full-time attendance at school. This endeavor showcases my exceptional time management skills and capacity to accomplish tasks effectively.
